A nether portal calculator set up for Minecraft Bedrock Edition (Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and mobile). The coordinate math is the same as Java, but Bedrock searches a much bigger area in the Nether.
Build your Nether portal at
100 / 70 / -13
Overworld X and Z ÷ 8, rounded down. Y stays the same.
When you enter the portal, the game looks for an existing Nether portal within 16 blocks of the target (Java), at any height.
What is different on Bedrock?
On Bedrock, the game searches 128 blocks around the target in both dimensions. In the Nether that covers 1,024 Overworld blocks in each direction, so portals that would be separate on Java can link to the same Nether portal on Bedrock. Space your Bedrock portals further apart.
Finding your coordinates on Bedrock
Open Settings → Game and turn on Show Coordinates. The position shown in the corner is the block you stand on; use it with the calculator.
How to use the bedrock nether portal calculator
- Turn on Show Coordinates and stand in your portal.
- Type the coordinates in the Overworld or Nether box.
- Build the partner portal at the result. On Bedrock, keep it closer to its partner than any other portal is.
Bedrock Nether Portal Calculator FAQ
Is the Nether ratio different on Bedrock?
No. It is 1:8 on both editions. Only the search area and some height limits are different.
Can I build a portal on the Nether roof on Bedrock?
No. On Bedrock the Nether ends at Y 127, so portals must be below the roof.
